CDFITON ImageCDFI TON was established in 2004 and awarded the CDFI Fund certification on February 2008 by the U.S. Dept. of Treasury as one of the 46th Native American CDFI in the United States.

As a chartered financial services organization, CDFI TON serves the residents and members of the Tohono O’odham Nation (A federally recognized Native American Tribe located in Southern Arizona). It seeks to create outreach programs for economic development such as financial literacy education and business development trainings. It also provides easier access to loan programs and other services which are geared for economic enrichment within the Nation.

In collaboration with other Tohono O’odham Nation entities, CDFI TON is opening new doors and opportunities for the purpose of business and economic development. It has established short-term and long-term goals to provide for specific financial services needed by Nation’s members. Tribal and community members are provided an opportunity to utilize their loan and training programs. More than anything else, CDFI TON strives to inspire and engage tribal members, tribal districts and tribal entities as partners and volunteers to share the best of their skills, time and resources to help their people to reach their full potential. It is a major driving force to involve everyone in creating a better and stronger Tohono O’odham Nation.
